Dr. Tanya Peckmann

Hello there!

Welcome to Osteoforensics — forensic anthropology courses taught by someone who really does Forensic Anthropology.

I am a university Professor with over 25 years' experience in teaching, research, curriculum and program development, and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students in Forensic Anthropology.

For 15 years, I consulted for the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service (Halifax, Canada) on over 200 forensic anthropology cases.

My work spanned:

  • Surface-scattered remains
  • Buried bodies
  • Fatal fire scenes
  • Specialized analyses in victim identification and skeletal trauma
  • I have also been called to testify in court as an expert witness

I am passionate about teaching and look forward to exploring forensic anthropology with you!
